How it works

Choose the calendars you want, set the on and off times, pick animated patterns, motionless ones or both, then choose which devices to use. Autopilot lists your upcoming events from there. Gemstone launched it in November 2024 and added sports team calendars in March 2025.

Gemstone's library covers the major holidays, from Christmas, Hanukkah and Halloween to Valentine's Day, New Year's, Canada Day and Diwali, plus seasons and awareness campaigns.

How it fits with your timers

Autopilot takes priority over daily or weekly timers at the same time, while yearly timers take priority over Autopilot. That means a birthday timer you set yourself still wins on the day.

Autopilot doesn't lock you out. You can change colours and animations by hand any time. Gemstone says most people can set up a whole year in under five minutes, and we're happy to set it up with you.

It also keeps up with the calendar. Autopilot adjusts as the seasons change and handles daylight saving time, so there's nothing to reset when sunset moves. Since August 2026 you can set a default look for a whole category, such as your sports calendars, while still picking something different for a single event.
