Permanent outdoor lights
Gemstone Lights® stay on your house all year: a warm white glow on ordinary evenings and holiday colours whenever you want them, all from your phone.
How it works
Put up once, lit every night
Each light sits in a slim aluminium track that runs along your soffit, spaced 9 inches apart. Gemstone's track slides under the L-trim of the fascia and is held in place with a screw painted to match, so it sits tight to the house. Every light has its own waterproof connector, and the wiring stays out of sight.
Once they're up, there's nothing to haul out in November or take down in January. You pick colours in the Gemstone Lights app, set a sunset timer if you like, and the lights take care of themselves. You may have heard them called soffit lights, eave lights or roofline lights; it's the same system.

What you get
Why homeowners choose them
-
A white that looks like porch light
Every light has red, green and blue diodes plus its own warm white diode, so you get over 16 million colours and a soft white that doesn't look blue.
-
Matched to your trim
Choose from more than 150 track colours. The track also fits sloped soffits, and it can go in next to pot lights you already have.
-
Ready for coastal weather
IP67 lights, UV-rated cables and a sealed connection at every light, designed by Gemstone for freezing cold, heat and strong wind.
-
Gemstone's 48V system
The new in-house 48V track system replaces the earlier 12V setup. Gemstone says it installs up to 30% faster.
-
Holidays from the couch
Switch to Christmas, Halloween or Canada Day colours in a few taps, or let Autopilot change them on the day.
-
About $4 a month to run
Gemstone's example: an average home with 117 feet of roofline needs about 150 lights and costs roughly $52.80 a year at 6 hours a night.

How much do permanent outdoor lights cost?
Gemstone prices them on two things: how many linear feet you want lit and the local rate for installation. It does not publish prices, so we measure your home and give you an exact number. Our cost page goes through what moves the price up or down.
Where does the control box go?
It is about 8 by 11 inches and plugs into a regular outlet. Most of the time it goes in the garage attic or on an outside wall close to the roofline.
Can the track go on wood or aluminium trim?
Both. It also fits sloped soffits, and for a house with no soffit or fascia at all, Gemstone can make a track to suit.
How bright is each light?
Up to 46 lumens, which works out to 60 to 100 lumens per foot of track. You can dim them from full bright white down to a soft glow.
Will they work with the pot lights I already have?
Yes. Gemstone says the track can go in alongside existing pot lights at no extra cost.
Do I need a permit?
It depends on where you live. Gemstone leaves this to the local dealer, so we will tell you whether your municipality needs one when we quote.
