Gemstone Lights® in Port McNeill

Port McNeill is a town of about 2,360 people (2021 Census), around 200 km north of Campbell River on Highway 19. It began as a base camp for loggers, and its BC Ferries terminal links it to Alert Bay on Cormorant Island and Sointula on Malcolm Island. It was re-incorporated as a town in April 1982, hours after the Constitution was patriated, and it claims to be the first town incorporated in Canada since.

About 72% of homes here are single-detached houses. The nearest weather station, at Port Hardy Airport, records around 1,900 mm of precipitation a year, most of it from October to January. Permanent lights suit that kind of winter: once they're up, there's nothing to hang in the rain and nothing to take down.

  • A trip we plan ahead

Port McNeill is a long drive from our base, so we book your install with you well in advance.

  • Made for North Island rain

Rain or snow falls on about 217 days a year at the nearby Port Hardy station. Every light is rated IP67 with a sealed connection.

  • The town with the big burl

The 24-ton burl beside the community hall is the local landmark. In December your house can be one too.
