Upgrading from the original Hub
Gemstone says existing systems are compatible with Hub2, and in some cases a minor wiring change is needed. Your dealer swaps the Hub1 for a Hub2 in your control box, and patterns can be migrated from the old app to the new one.
Hub1 is still supported, but Gemstone isn't releasing new updates for it. Features like Autopilot, Music Sync, playlists and pattern sharing need Hub2. Upgrade pricing depends on your dealer, so call us for a quote.
Where it fits in Gemstone's history
Gemstone Lights 1.0 arrived in 2017, the original Hub controller in 2020 and Hub2 in 2024. Gemstone describes Hub2 as completely new software, a new control box and a new app, and it can run the residential, commercial and landscape lights from one place.
